Your Life Changes When You Do

I want to share a simple, quick, yet powerful process that you can use on your own, right now, to help you create the changes you’re wanting in your life, by actually doing LESS.

We are being disillusioned by the ‘when I get there…’ syndrome of postponing our happiness for some idea the future will bring us.

Maybe you’ve noticed that way of thinking keeps you imprisoned, working long hours, managing an endless to-do list.

Maybe you have been trying so hard and have done so much of the work and you’re still not where you want to be.

There’s an easier, more direct way to change.

It starts with you and your thinking.

Your life changes when you do. 

You don’t need to work harder, you don’t need to tell yourself any more stories about being motivated.

You just need to get out of your own way.

What keeps people stuck is that they either lean too hard on hustling or they lean too hard on doing the inner work.

And I know this because this was my story.

See, as a coach I loved transformational work; I loved getting to the root of what holds people back.

But I could see at the time that I was really just hiding by not taking strategic action and showing up to whatever it was I wanted to create in my life.

And even with all the action, “the doing” wasn’t sustainable either.

What I have come to discover to create real meaningful, lasting, easier, change is to do both. 

Every time we take steps to what we want to create in our lives, the unconscious things that hold us back will come up.

Sometimes we don’t even know what is holding us back until we unlock them.

I had a client who wanted to go next level in her success with her career, but she kept hitting up against a block. Here’s what we discovered:

She feared that if she was more successful, she wouldn’t be happy in her relationship. She didn’t even realise that this belief was operating within her.

How did that fear even come to be there?

When her mum had gotten a promotion, that was the same time that she got a divorce. So she was unconsciously operating under the belief that she would have that same experience.

Get where I’m going with this, dear?

If we don’t highlight these things, it’s going to create more stress, more work for us and it’s going to make it harder to bring about the change that we are wanting in our lives. 

If we don’t do the inner work, we’re just going to keep putting the same blocks and patterns on to different people and situations.

And if we don’t take strategic action, we’re either going to go in the wrong direction or not get the results we are wanting.

The mind work is really about both.

It’s both soulful and practical so that you can create success more gracefully and easily in your life.

The first step is to become aware of the fears that
are holding us back. 

Take out a pen and paper and ask yourself this:

  • What is it I really want in my life? 

Get clear about that first. We don’t even give ourselves permission to want what we want. Go there.

And then answer this:

  • What is the one fear I have of having this dream – of having that goal or intention? 

I can see your eyes searching the ceiling… and maybe your mind is saying at this point: Why would I fear something I want? There’s something in there (and not on the ceiling 😉 ), trust me on this.

The one fear I have for wanting what I want is… 

Be willing to question it.

  • Then once you identify that fear, you can bring presence to it.

You can look at it and ask: can I absolutely know it’s true that I can’t have what I want AND… what I want as well? 😉

(I’m here tell you, that you can absolutely have both.)

When you start to become aware of these things and you question the thought that it’s not possible – you get behind yourself, you feel your power and you can take action on what’s actually true from there.

You don’t have to believe me, but be willing to test out the assumption.

What is the misunderstanding you bought into?

We don’t even realise it’s operating inside of us until we are aware.

Awareness is where transformation happens and from there you can make more self loving choices to what’s in front of you. 

This is an easier way to create the change you’re wanting with more grace.
